The world is full of job opportunities for people who are willing to take them. It wasn’t that long ago that I was working a normal 9-5 Job for someone else making minimum wage while I was slowly traversing my way through the jungles of college. In my spare time I enjoyed, hiking, video games, and creating websites and applications. I had always heard of people that had taken that leap of faith and self taught themselves a skill set or trade and then made a business out of it. But those people have something special about them something that I didn’t have until I got married. A small game changer called ambition.

Learning HTML and CSS was fairly simple for me. However, I was raised with a father who owned a computer store. I remember actually when I was in 6th grade and Microsoft front page came out. I created my first website when I was in 6th grade with that terrible software but it was the start of a beautiful and exciting life journey to becoming a programmer.

When it came to learning PHP and Java Script I had to start with the basics. In addition I need to learn how to build, manipulate and fix WordPress themes and plugins quickly and correctly. I went to local book stores and read/bought many text books, looked online for meet up groups that were getting together to talk about these languages and looked for free resources online. In this article I am going to talk about the top three that I have used and continue to use to this day to grow and maintain my knowledge of coding languages.
