Being a smaller company we normally work remotely and communicate not face to face in the office but over social platforms, phone calls, emails, and task managers to accomplish goals for various projects. Occasionally we will gather in a near by coffee shop and slide some tables and chairs together and try to focus our brain power towards problem solving through solution seeking conversations that are fueled by bagels and good coffee.
It goes with out saying that working remotely can be challenging and even daunting if you have never done it before. There are some great ways to accomplish working remotely and to mitigate specific fears that could arise. When we started expanding and adding to our numbers we struggled to find a way for us all to connect and ended up with Dropbox to share files and Producteev to keep tasks in check (Pun intended.) Both of these offered for us the ability to check on projects on the go via our cell phones and it help accomplish all the needs that we had at the time of implementing them.
